May 7- May 11 2007

I have had alot of opportunities at my placement. Once and a while there is talk of a possible part-time job once my placement is over, but nothing is finalized yet. Also, this whole experience would be considered an opportunity. Not everyone aspiring to be a mechanic will have the benefit of co-op and I see this experience as an advantage in the future. My parents think that co-op is "great" and that I am getting a lot of valuable experience from it. The typical problems in my workplace are people bringing in their vehicles with nothing wrong with them. They compain of noises that are normal and it is a waste of time for the mechanics when they could be working on other jobs. The Highlight of the week was when I installed the control arms on the Focus by myself. It gave me a boost on confidence knowing that I am able to do jobs by myself. The low point of the week was when I was having problems with the tire machine and getting the tire off. It was very frustrating, and it was very hot in the shop which added to the frustration, so I decided to grab a drink and take a little break which helped a lot. Before co-op is over, I want to get a job at Oak- Land Ford.
